Black Breasted Red Old English Bantams, commonly called BB
Reds are one of the most popular Old English Bantam varieties.
Males and females have combs, faces, wattles and ear lobes
that are bright red.
Males and females have entirely different, unique, attractive,
multi-colored plumage patterns.
All Old English Bantams have single combs but males must be
dubbed for exhibition. They exhibit an alert, upright stance and
a very confident, "cockiness" to their strut. The Rooster
pictured weighs 15 ounces, the hens he is with average 16
ounces, with some less than 14 ounces. We do not restrict
their diet.
The standard size for a male is 24 ounces. The standard size
for a female is 22 ounces.
We suggest a feed ration of 20% protein, and a handful of
Scratch and Greens daily.
